Cypess is naturally resistant to insect activity – the natural oils in cypress wood are known to repel termites. It is still reccommended to keep mulch clear of building structures.
As Cypress Chip is a bark like material it is more likely to slide off a sloping garden bed. To help keep the chip in place consider using garden edging or a retaining border around the area. For steeper slopes consider opting for a finer style of mulch as smaller particles will hold and interlock together reducing movement in high winds, watering or heavy rainfall.
