Alpinia nutans dwarf cardamom is a great subtropical garden filler plant that grows to approximately 1 meter. It has lovely dark green scented foliage that has white flowers though spring and summer. Alpinia nutans grow well in full sun to part shade and have a tight clumping and compact growth habit. They are best planted with other tropicals such as heliconias, gingers, philodendrons, cordylines, crotons and palms.
